PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Borax decahydrate is a chemical substance, the molecular formula is Na2B4O7-10H2O, translucent colorless crystals or crystalline white powder; odorless, taste salty; heated to 350-400 ° C to lose all the water of crystallization that is anhydrous borax. (Na2B4O7), density 1.72g/cm3; soluble in water, also soluble in glycerol, insoluble in alcohol. Its aqueous solution is weakly alkaline, colorless glass when melted. It is bactericidal and harmful to the human body when taken orally. In chemical composition, it is sodium tetraborate containing 10 water molecules. Its crystals are plate-like or columnar, the crystals are assembled together to form crystal clusters, granular, porous clods and so on, the color is white with gray or with a lighter tone of yellow, blue, green and so on, with a glassy luster.
Borax is the basic raw material for the production of boron compounds, almost all boron compounds can be produced by borax. They have important and wide range of uses in metallurgy, iron and steel, machinery, military industry, cutting tools, paper, electronic tubes, chemical industry and textile and other sectors.
USES
1. It can be used to manufacture a variety of boron compounds, such as: elemental boron, borates, metaborates, metallic boron compounds, organic boron compounds and so on;
2. In the glass industry for the manufacture of enhanced ultraviolet transmittance, improve glass transparency of optical glass, heat-resistant high-strength glass, as well as microcrystalline glass and other special glass and glass fibers;
3. In enamel and ceramic products, borax can make the surface smooth, enamel is not easy to fall off;
4. In metallurgical industry, it is used in the production of high-strength boron steel, high hardness and heat-resistant alloy steel and special steel which is corrosion-resistant to triacid, as well as deoxidizing agent, co-solvent and purifying agent for non-ferrous smelting;
5. In the machinery industry, it is used in surface boron penetration to improve hardness and metal welding;
